We are proud and excited to announce OPERA San Antonio’s second production of our 2016-17 season, The Barber of Seville! Rossini’s The Barber of Seville originated at the Glimmerglass Opera and the production will be coming to San Antonio from North Carolina Opera. Internationally acclaimed set designer, John Conklin, designed the original production at Glimmerglass. In addition, he has designed productions for the Metropolitan Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, English National Opera, and Bastille Opera in Paris.
E. Loren Meeker has received critical acclaim for her stage direction of Carmen at Washington National Opera, Lucia di Lammermoor at New Orleans Opera, and Manon at Dallas Opera. We are honored to have her join us as our stage director for The Barber of Seville.
